Hershey Hotel Project

I am excited and pleased to tell you I was one of five artists chosen to create an original piece of art for the Hershey Hotel.

A couple of months ago I was contacted by an art consulting firm, EDL & Associates, in Atlanta, Georgia asking if I would be interested in the project. They had an idea in mind using a Circa 1934 Community Map of Hershey and painting over the map with an image of a butterfly. After some phone calls and emails it was then finally decided to include the state flower, Mountain Laurel. The butterfly is representative of a butterfly house at the Hershey Gardens.

The artwork will hang in one of the guest rooms at the hotel and three giclee prints will also be made to hang in other guest rooms.

Autumn Passage

Just before the Hershey Project I was able to complete a watercolor of this female Ruby-crowned Kinglet. The image size is 11 3/4 x 5 3/4 on hot press paper.

A year ago as Michele and I were out on the trails at Presque Isle we came across several Ruby-crowned Kinglets darting across the path. Kinglets don't stay still for very long but we did manage a few photos.

The painting is on exhibit till this Sunday at the Bayfront Gallery in Erie, PA. If you are interested in purchasing please send me an email.
